Real Madrid finished preparing for their game against Valencia on Sunday by going through their paces in training at Valdebebas on Saturday morning, however, Raphael Varane was absent and is unlikely to play.
It’s a blow for Zinedine Zidane who was already without Jesus Vallejo, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese star also didn’t train with the rest of the team.
“Varane wants play but at the same time he has something there injury-wise,” said Zidane.
“To play on Sunday is a bit risky and I do not want to [risk him].”
Real have a real problem in central defence now.
Only Nacho is available for Valencia, meaning that either Casemiro or youth players Alvaro Tejero and Manu Hernando would have to deputise.
