Sergio Ramos’ appeal dismissed

Real Madrid’s appeal against captain Sergio Ramos’ second yellow card against Deportivo has failed.

The centre-back was sent off for picking up two yellow cards during his side’s opening game of the season, which Los Blancos won 3-0.

Real’s appeal was based on the fact that his second yellow was as a result of an honest struggle for the ball without any bad intention on the player’s part.

Despite that being the basis of the appeal from Real, it has been dismissed and he will now miss his side’s first home game of the league season against Valencia.
