The 2017/18 season is only just getting underway and Real Madrid have already won two Super Cups, defeating Manchester United and Barcelona for the European and Spanish curtain-raisers.
However, Zinedine Zidane’s players are not getting carried away and are keeping their feet on the ground.
“We do not feel unstoppable,” Theo Hernandez said in the mixed zone after the match.
“Zidane can count on the whole squad, but we must keep working to win more titles.”
That view was echoed by other members of the dressing room, such as Keylor Navas.
“We are very happy to win titles, but we must remain grounded and remember that we’ve worked really hard to be where we are,” the goalkeeper said.
“We don’t feel superior.
“We try to work in the best possible way.
“We need to go bit by bit, as the season is long.
“The team has a lot of confidence and we’re playing well, while the physical state of the players is also very good.”
Navas, Hernandez and the rest of Los Blancos now turn their attentions to the start of the LaLiga season, which gets going with Sunday’s trip to Deportivo La Coruna.
