There was a spring in the step of Real Madrid’s stars on Monday morning as they gathered for training following their victory at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening.
The players were on the training pitch at Valdebebas early as they executed drills with the ball under the watchful eye of Zinedine Zidane.
Those who played a key and extensive part in Sunday’s Supercopa de Espana clash worked at a significantly lower intensity throughout the morning whilst Isco trained alone inside the facility.
Ahead of a second-leg where Los Cules will need to be on the attack from the first minute, Los Blancos worked on defensive pressure drills later in the session with Luca Zidane and Achraf Hakimi both taking part.
Luka Modric is set to return on Wednesday following his absence and the French coach has one further training session on Tuesday before making his decision on the starting line-up.
It is likely the same team that overcame Manchester United in Skopje will be used although Zidane does have a future headache courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s impending suspension and a groin injury suffered by Mateo Kovacic.
