Real Madrid extend Marcelo’s contract to 2022

Marcelo has extended his Real Madrid contract, with the expiry date now moved from 2020 to 2022.

Los Blancos have announced that the signing of this new deal will take place this Thursday, making this new agreement official.

The left-back was just 18 years old when he arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in 2007 and he has gone on to become a vice-captain and to feature in 415 matches.

With this extension, Marcelo now has his sights set on his predecessor and idol Roberto Carlos’s record for a foreigner of 527 appearances with Real Madrid.
