Real Madrid appeal Ramos’ second yellow

Jose Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez was criticised by some for producing a late red card at Sergio Ramos on Sunday night and Real Madrid are appealing the decision.

Booked for a blow to Fabian Schar during the 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna, the centre-back was then given his marching orders to leave Real unhappy despite his first yellow in the game being potentially a red card in its own right.

“Ramos disputed the ball with an arm across his opponent in a reckless manner,” Gonzalez Gonzalez described the incident in his report.

Now Los Blancos will appeal the second yellow with the hope of removing Ramos’ one match ban to have him available for the weekend visit of Valencia.
