Real Madrid aim to put LaLiga blip behind them in Champions League

After two successive LaLiga draws, Real Madrid trained at Valdebebas on Sunday as they aim to get back on track in midweek Champions League action.

Having drawn 1-1 against Levante after their 2-2 draw against Valencia, Los Blancos have the opportunity to pick up an overdue win when they host APOEL as the defence of their crown begins once more.

There was no rest for them on Sunday morning as attention turns to Europe, with Zinedine Zidane preparing a recovery session for the starters against Levante and a higher intensity outing for substitutes and other squad players.

Karim Benzema, who sustained a muscle injury against Levante, was not present and began his rehab process as he aims to shorten the length of time he is expected to be sidelined.

Youth goalkeeper Moha did take part in the session as did Cristiano Ronaldo, who is eligible to feature in the Champions League on Wednesday.
