After the principle of agreement between Real Madrid and Monaco of 180 million euros – 160m fixed and another 20m in variables – Los Blancos are waiting to sign the missing piece of their jigsaw for the 2017/18 season; none other than Kylian Mbappe.
Everything is already agreed with the player, who will sign for six seasons at a rate of seven million euros per year, which is a good fit in the salary scale at the club.
The L10Sport newspaper also announced on Wednesday that Mbappe has bid farewell to the French club, which closed the signing of another striker to replace him: Adama Diakhaby.
As Paris Saint-Germain will sign Neymar, that has eliminated them from the race for Mbappe, and events surrounding the Brazilian has meant that Madrid are now in a one-man race for the French wunderkind.
In fact, negotiations with Los Blancos are so far advanced, that the other interested clubs, such as Manchester City or Arsenal, have pulled out, leaving the way open for Florentino Perez to make sure the deal gets over the line.
The president already met with the player in Paris and Mbappe made it perfectly clear that he considers himself good enough to make the leap to Madrid this summer, thus discarding an option to continue for one more year at Monaco. L10Sport announces that Mbappe will leave Monaco this summer.
