Barcelona may be scrabbling around to replace Neymar following the winger’s world record move to Paris Saint-Germain, but that doesn’t mean Keylor Navas is taking Real Madrid’s Supercopa de Espana opponents any easier.
With Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele yet to sign as the double header kicks off on Sunday, Los Blancos’ goalkeeper senses that whoever steps into the side will pose a threat.
“[Neymar’s] talent isn’t a secret, but we can not fall into the mentality that Barcelona are weaker without him,” the Costa Rican told reporters.
“The player who will replace him in his position will have the same desire and won’t be any weaker.
“Barcelona always have a clear way of playing. It’s not going to be a game of many surprises, it’s going to be defined by small details.”
Having already lifted one trophy this season, Navas is ready to go again as he knows that Real players have to desire every single piece of silverware that the club fights for.
“We are very calm and are aware of the responsibility we have,” added Navas.
“If we want to win, we have to score goals and we have the ability to do that. We will think about the future afterwards, because this game is the most important and we want to win it.
“You play to win, the day that mentality changes, you cannot play for this team. We are all aware that being at Madrid represents fighting for titles and we want to win them.”
