Nacho: Real Madrid have never won in Dortmund and want to do it now

Having never picked up a Champions League win at Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez is determined to end that statistic this week.

Los Merengues travel to Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night as they look to build upon their win against APOEL in the opening group game.

However, to do so, the reigning champions will have to do something they have never managed before by winning in Dortmund.

“We have never won there so we want to do well and leave with the three points. We are feeling good at the moment and are excited about putting in a good performance,” Nacho told Codere.

“We must continue do the things that we have been doing well; playing as a team, running more than the opposition, and, with the attack we have, we can do a lot of damage.”

Despite Real’s sluggish start in LaLiga, the defender did point out that they have already secured silverware this season and that the squad are calm about the challenges ahead.

“Everyone is feeling very positive. I think we’ve started the season very well because we won two Super Cup trophies against two very tough opponents,” he continued.

“We’re very excited about everything that is happening with us at the moment. When you wear this shirt, you must try to win all possible titles.

“This is a very good squad and we are certainly capable of doing that.”
