Florentino Perez: 19 titles and more than 1,300m in signings

After he was voted in for a third term, thus ensuring that Florentino Perez will continue as president of Real Madrid for four more years, it’s worth taking a look back over his time at the club where he has spent over one billion euros to help bring in 19 titles.

Since he came to the presidency in the 2000/01 season, only Ramon Calderon (from 2006 to 2009) has punctured Florentino’s reign at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

To date, Perez has invested a total of 1,309.7 million euros.

Seven of 19 titles were won in his first term between 2000/01 and 2005/06, and during his second, since 2009/10, 12 more have arrived.

After 14 seasons at the helm, only Santiago Bernabeu himself is ahead of Florentino Perez in terms of titles won (31 in 35 seasons).

In addition, under Perez’s mandate, the club have obtained four of the 12 Champions Leagues they have conquered.

Six came when Santiago Bernabeu was president and two were won during the reign of Lorenzo Sanz.

The chart below shows the breakdown of signings made and titles obtained during Perez’s first and second terms at the club.
