The captain of the Portuguese team, Cristiano Ronaldo , trained on Wednesday away from the rest of his teammates.
There are just three days until they face Andorra in their World Cup qualifier and question marks were posed as to the Real Madrid player’s fitness.
According to the Portuguese sports press, he is training separately to “manage the effort,” as Ronaldo doesn’t want to have any physical problem that calls into question his participation in the match.
Following the Andorra clash, Portugal face Switzerland and the outcome of those two matches will decide who out of the group goes to Russia.
Portugal are in second place in Group B, three points behind Switzerland who are leaders of the group.
