Cristiano Ronaldo never fails

Returning in the Champions League tie against APOEL Nicosia, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo achieved what he wanted: goals.

As long as Ronaldo is on the pitch, Real have the chance to score and the Portuguese was able to grab a brace after missing four games for a sending off in the Spanish Super Cup first leg victory against Barcelona.

Ronaldo was celebrating after 12 minutes, a goal that came after some brilliantly play between Isco and Gareth Bale, and the game showed that the 32-year-old is becoming less and less like a winger and more like a traditional No. 9.

With Ronaldo on the pitch, Real recovered their clinical edge that was missing in the games against Valencia and Levante as he pushed the team forward, always looking to add to the scoreline.

So much so that after scoring his second, a penalty, Ronaldo picked up the ball and ran to the centre circle, eager to extend the lead. It was 2-0 at the time, yet he acted like they were 3-2 down.
