With the second leg of the Supercopa de Espana immediately on the horizon, Dani Carvajal spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference and lamented the punishment handed out to Cristiano Ronaldo at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
The Portuguese was sent off for two yellow cards, incurring a one-match ban, however a shove on the referee earned him a further four-game punishment.
“It is an excessive sanction and a frustrating situation,” Carvajal began.
“I am not in the head of the referees but he [Ronaldo] didn’t have to be sent off.
“We are fu**ed now because of that penalty, but hopefully they will reduce the amount of games he misses.”
Real are continuing where they left off last season and Carvajal gave a hint at the secret of their success.
“It’s a combination of everything,” he continued.
“We all swim in the same direction and here we have the best players in the world.”
With 161 games under his belt, the right-back is already a veteran of this Madrid side, something he is proud of.
“I feel very proud to be involved in one of the best moments of the club,” he said.
“Every day I feel more important and I’ve stopped being the youngster.
“I want to seize the moment and improve to keep winning titles.”
