Real Madrid continue to try and process a disastrous week in which they have lost twice, Dani Carvajal has turned his attention to the upcoming Madrid derby on November 18, a match he plans to return for.
A bout of pericarditis has seen the former Bayer Leverkusen right-back miss a significant period of action, and his rehabilitation has been complicated by the fact it was a heart ailment.
Whilst the pericarditis has been clear for two weeks, Carvajal has needed to prove that his body and organs are capable of standing up to the exertions of top level sport.
The nature of his ailment saw him lose most of the physical fitness he built up in pre-season, so returning to match fitness has been the Spanish international’s priority.
There are still 15 days to go until the clash at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, during which time the full-back hopes to make a huge improvement in his physical condition.
Carvajal is determined to return for this match and he has informed Los Blancos’ coaching team of this goal,.
The final decision, however, will be taken by Zinedine Zidane, as the French coach has made it abundantly clear that he will not rush Carvajal back.
