Despite his disappointment at losing the European Super Cup final to Real Madrid , Manchester United’s Ander Herrera was gracious enough to suggest the best team in the world were the victors.
A 2-1 score line suggests a tight game but in truth it was anything but.
“They were superior, they are the best team in the world,” Herrera said.
“I think the favourites were the ones who won the European Super Cup.”
Once Romelu Lukaku had scored for the Red Devils, they seemed to get a new lease of life later in the match.
“When you’re losing 2-0, you have to go for it,” the midfielder continued.
Herrera also confessed his goals for the coming season.
“Now there are five or six teams that are better than us, but we want to be up in the top two or three,” he concluded.
